This is a note to my pregnant belly… I hope he reads this blog (yes, "belly" is masculine... in Russian).
Dear Belly,
I love you! I think you are so beautiful! And functional! You’ve been such a nice home for our growing baby. I’m proud of your amazing ability to expand so much without causing me any major discomfort or leaving behind any stretchmarks. Razvan nicknamed you “ovo”, after the Cirque du Soleil show that we saw together.
Too bad you got deflated a little bit after loosing all that water. Sorry that you had to go through that, poor Belly, but you seem to have recovered nicely. The doctors say that it’s not your fault. It could have happened to any belly. There were no warning signs. You thought you were the happiest Belly on the face of the earth, and that you were going to have it easy (and you did, for the first 30 weeks!). Life is full of surprises, Belly. Don’t blame yourself, and be strong. It’s not yet time to think about getting into that pre-pregnancy shape (I promise, we’ll work on that later). We need you a little longer. Hang in there, Belly.
XOXO
Kat
